You are privileged to visit one country to another and experience their way of living. Sometime you get overwhelmed of the infrastructures and food of your destination. But before that, passport is needed.

Philippine passports holders can visit 66 countries without having a visa.

Currently, Taiwan extended their visa-free entry to Philippine Passport holder until July 31, 2018.

And you can grab good deals on plane tickets to these countries.

Starting August 2018, DFA offerered ePayment Portal for those who are renewing or applying for passports in DFA Aseana or in any Consular Offices nationwide. Applicants will be required to prepay their passport processing fees using the new system. This is to get rid fixers and avoid no-show on their application.

I was a college student when I first applied for a passport. Back then, a student is required to present his/her School Certification, transcript of record with your current academic year, and photocopy of school id.
My Philippine Passport has 5-year validity and expiring 8 months from now and I decided to renew it since I have plans months before its expiration date.
As of 2018, Philippine passport changed into 10-year validity. The 10-year validity is not applicable to applicants under 18.

CORE REQUIREMENTS

• Confirmed Online Appointment (click here).

I don't have the ePayment option when I get an online appointment for the Renewal of my passport since I got it before its implementation.  I used my gmail account. I read that gmail account is more preferred to use for confirmation of your appointment.

Date of Appointment: August 31, 2018
Tentative date of release for expedite: September 7, 2018
Tentative date of release for regular: September 17, 2018

The processing was shortened but it's just tentative so sometime's the release encounters delay.

TIPS:

• Visit the website at midnight. You can find several dates that are open. Refer to the photo below. I visited the website last August 29, 2018 around 3 in the morning.
• You can get an online appointment at any sites.
• This is very common tip but very handy, prepare your data. You may given 15minutes but you're not the only one on the same page.
• Type as fast as you can without typos when you find an open slot. Better to avoid typos, you have to cancel your appointment and get a new one if you find one typos.

NO APPOINTMENT IS NEEDED for the following:

1. SENIOR CITIZEN and one (1) travel companion
2. PERSON WITH DISABILITY (PWDs) and one (1) travel companion
3. SOLO PARENT and his/her minor children
4. PREGNANT WOMEN
5. MINORS SEVEN (7) YEARS OLD AND BELOW and his/her parents and minor siblings
6. OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS (land-based, or seafarers)

You may avail of the OFW LANE or COURTESY LANE at DFA Aseana or at any DFA Consular Office to apply for your passport.

I prepared a computer processed of this form incase they will need it but it was returned to me. So, there's no need to bring this.

• Personal Appearance

It says in the reminder to go to the site 30-minutes before your appointment.

• Current ePassport with photocopy of data page

This is the page 2 of your passport. Bring your old passport at the release for cancellation. They will punch holes in the old passport.

• Original PSA authenticated documents that will support the change of name and/or marital status (if applicable)
• Marriage Contract
• Annotated Birth Certificate
• Annotated Marriage Contract to show annulment/diverce/court ordered instruction
• Death Certificate of Spouse

• Passport processing fees for both new applications and renewal are as follows:
• Regular Processing – P 950.00
• Expedited Processing – P 1,200.00
• Penalty for lost and mutilated passports – P 350.00
• For applications made at Consular Offices in Metro Manila, processing and releasing of passports take 15 working days for regular processing and 7 working days for expedited processing.
• For areas outside Metro Manila, processing and releasing of passports take 20 working days for regular processing and 10 working days for expedited processing.
• For all Philippine Foreign Service Posts, processing and releasing of passports take around 4-6 weeks.
